New Antimicrobial Solutions
Combating bacteria is a priority in most facilities – especially high traffic buildings like hospitals and schools. Ingersoll Rand can help with a new antimicrobial coating that provides lasting protection by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew and odor on the surface of door hardware.
How does it work?
For bacteria to grow, its cells must be able to form new protoplasm from nutrients available in the environment. The antimicrobial coating is specially formulated to inhibit the growth of bacteria by interrupting cell multiplication. The result is that the silver ions surround bacterial cells, blockading food and slowing the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew.
When compared to standard hardware finishes, the silver ion coating inhibits the multiplication of bacteria on the coated surface.
